Gender Odyssey Conference – Seattle Washington 2017

Several of my staff and I attended the Gender Odyssey Conference in Seattle this past weekend and I just wanted to share some of our experiences. These conferences are a great resource for providers, patients, and the friends and family of transgender patients. I have attended and lectured at this conference for many years, and I always enjoy the experience and come back with some knowledge or insight I didn’t have prior.

These conferences are a great resource for providers, patients, and the friends and family of transgender patients. I have attended and lectured at this conference for many years, and I always enjoy the experience and come back with some knowledge or insight I didn’t have prior.

I love giving lectures to providers and patients, so I always enjoy that part of the conference. But I also get to meet other providers who are serving the transgender community and I get to meet potential patients and family members, which helps me be a better provider by learning and understanding just what my transgender patients need, in regard to their healthcare.

I’ve shared some pictures of the event below, which were taken by my surgery scheduler, Kim, and my medical assistant, Stephanie, who were able to attend the event with me to gain more knowledge about transgender health care needs. Both Kim and Stephanie enjoyed the various lectures that were offered, and I think the experience was a great one for all of us.

If you are interested in seeing my actual lecture, head over to the “Lecture” portion of this website to see my uploaded PowerPoint Presentation.

Have you ever been to the Gender Odyssey conference? What was your experience, or is there something you wish the conference would offer in the future? Comment below and let me know.
